Christmas Projects

Christmas Projects!!!
Christmas spirit has landed. I am working on several projects right now. I'm not sure if all of them will make on here.
Here is my wreath I finished last night. I think it turned out pretty well. I uses a YouTube tutorial by Naztazia.  I had fun making this. I used about 36 medium and large poem poems on this, but you could use more if you wanted too. It's very customizable. Here is the link for the tutorial I used:  How to make easy simple beginner yarn poem poem wreath . I hope you enjoy making this as much as I did.
I have a couple of projects coming up. I Wil be making sled ornaments and polymer clay ornaments. I will post them as I get them done.

Pineapple Doilies

For my first Pinterest project, I thought I would make these pretty pineapple doilies that are featured in Crochet-World Magazine.  You can find the pattern with this link:  http://www.crochet-world.com/newsletters-proofing.php?mode=article&article_id=1920&key=CWNL.

Here they are before I blocked them.  This pattern is easy to understand.  If your like me, then you'll want to mark your place at the beginning of each round.  I recommend using a paper clip or a stitch marker to do this.  Pay close attention to each of your stitches so you don't miss any stitches.

You can block these doilies using different methods.  I used the method here on this you tube video put out by Beanie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pY5xlbtuN3s. You can also use liquid or spray starch to block your doilies.  Here is a link to show you how to do that:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjDoI5VXK9o.

there are other methods for blocking your doilies, you just need to do a little research to find one that suits your needs.  Here is a picture of them after they have been blocked:

I used beanie's method for the pink one, but I used just plain water to block the blue and cream ones.

I hope you enjoyed this post on the pineapple doilies.  Leave me a comment if you want to see a specific project.  Thanks for joining me.

I'm Back!!!!

Hi everyone,

After deleting this blog, I've decided to re-open it.  I am going to do something a bit different.  Instead of posting just random craft projects, I am going to be doing different projects I have found on Pinterest.  I love Pinterest and and have done several of the projects that I have pinned.  It's mostly crochet or jewelry, but I am going to try to branch out a little bit and do a bit more DIY projects.  I will post pictures of the projects that I post and would appreciate any and all feedback.  You can also find me on Twitter (@AAldredge).  If you want to find me on Pinterest I am Angela Aldredge. I am on tumblr at www.tumblr.com/blog/itsmyeverythinginbetween.  Pay me a visit.  If you have any projects you would like me to try, let me know.  Thanks for visiting with me.

How to Make Chain Maille Jewelry

When you hear the word chainmaille, you may think of the armour worn in Medieval times, but you can also use this to make great looking and unique jewelry.  Chainmaille is the process of weaving metal rings called jump rings together to create unique pieces of jewelry.  I'm going to share two links to make the two weaves in the picture above.

The one on the left is a basic weave called the 2 by 2.  It is usually the basis of basic chains.  It's simple to make and really pretty once the piece is done.  Here in the picture, I've made a bracelet and a matching set of earrings.  Here is the link to a youtube video for this weave as well as two other weaves:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a8C0iDqTEVI

The one on the right is a little more challenging, but once you get started, it is pretty easy.  This is called the helm weave.  It looks unique and elegant.  I've also made a bracelet and set of earrings in this weave.  Here is the link for this weave:  http://www.gossamerwingsdesigns.com/Jump-Rings-Chain-Maille-weave-helm-chain.htm

I hope you enjoyed this post. Thanks for reading.

Tutorials

Hi all!

So I've decided that I should put up some of the tutorials I  use for my projects.  Each week, I will post a new project along with the link of the tutorial I used to make it.  I do sometimes tweak the pattern a bit, but when I do, I will let you know.  This will start soon, I have been busy with school starting back and have found some great new tutorials and projects I want to start working on.  This will come in especially handy with Christmas coming up and I like to get a head start on buying/making any Christmas gifts. Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Loom Bracelets

I've gotten into the loom bracelets.  My daughter received one for Christmas and it was a little difficult for her, but I've made them and there are so many different patterns for these looms.  We have the Crazy Loom that Toys-R-Us sales.  Here is one bracelet that we've made.  It has flowers that are made of pony beads.  This one was a little more advanced than others, but YouTube had alot of tutorials on these kinds of bracelets.  These are fun to make and give as gifts or to sell for a little extra money.  Thanks for reading.
